You Are What You Eat: My Healthy-Eating Journey

by Hans Malvin on September 24, 2025

This is my first time making a blog, and i kind of excited to share my journey. But first and foremost i will tell you guys a little about myself, since i was little, i was a skinny kid, and that makes me looks little among all my friends, and i do not mind that, until one day i felt like i need to eat more and get bigger, and at first i started to do some simple home workout, and right now i go to the gym, when i look back its been quite a journey. The most i have learned is that the most important thing is to eat a lot, like really a lot of foods.

The first time i did this journey i go through a lot of trial and error, i eat a lot of things that i should not suppose to eat, and what i was supposed to eat, because of this i have been learning a lot of things like calorie intake and all kinds of diet. Now i want to share my journey with you guys, for this week's food, its my number 1 food.

Although i have learn a lot of things throughout my journey, it is still a short journey and because of this there is still a lot of things that i did not know. Because of this let's learn things together, this is my story and my journey to be fit. A lot of you probably already know that if you workout, the first and the most important things is to fuel your body with protein. The number one protein source i like to fuel my body is eggs, i can say that i love eggs with how much i have eaten eggs. And when i want to fill my protein intake, i always go after eggs, even more than i go for chicken.

For me eggs is the S tier of protein, you can make a lot of egg variance, you can never be bored when consuming eggs, and this is why for my first blog i want to share my go-to food when you want to do high-protein diet. The dish that i want to share to you is boiled eggs. For me boiled eggs is my go-to food, its arguable the best protein food when you do high-protein diet. Its the best because it's simple and easy to make, you only need a couple minutes to make it, and you can make it tastes good. You can never go wrong when making eggs. Before i make this blog, i actually just finish eating boiled eggs.

The number one add on that i will give when i eat boiled eggs is salt and pepper. These two things are my number 1 because of course it did not add a lot of unnecessary calories, so i can keep track of my calorie intake easier. There are a lot of variance even on boiled eggs itself. You can make boiled eggs into different food or dish by adjusting the temperature and time when you boiled it. You can make boiled eggs into different level of doneness or different consistency, for example you can make half boiled eggs, its still half cooked in the inside. But if you feel like eating something that is not fully cooked can be dangerous you can always go for hard-boiled eggs. But my preference is soft boiled eggs, it's when the eggs not fully cooked but also not half cooked.

But however you make it, my tips when you boiled some eggs is when you done boiling it immediately put the eggs into a bowl of ice water, so the temperature inside back to normal or cold so that the boiling process stopped, especially when you make half boiled eggs or anything in between hard boiled and half boiled eggs.

Eggs is always my number 1 choice, because when i think of buying a quick protein such as whey protein, i did not always trust the brand will gives a true protein in there. And also the prices of the trusted brand is quite expensive, saving up to buy whey protein does not really stick with me, because other than buying whey protein, which the contents i can get from eating just eggs or other high protein foods like chicken, i better save up some for getting a gym membership.

Though you may ask why is that on my very first blog i choose boiled eggs as my first dish when i share about my healthy eating journey. The number 1 reason for me is that you can never go wrong with eggs, its simple to make and we all love it, except you don't eat animal foods, and also egg is on the top 5 most highest protein foods. The second reason is when i start my journey, eggs is the most often. And also with eggs when you add a condiment it feels like the eggs becomes a whole new dish. The third reason is because this is my very first blog, i want to start the journey with something simple but also not the thing that all of you are not familiar with it, so i choose boiled eggs. Other reason is simply i love eggs.

This is my tips when you just started doing diet, the first one if you have a hard time to keep your urges in check, my tips is that you need to change your mindset, think of food only as fuel for your body and if its still hard you can always go for one cheat meal per week. Its only hard when you just started it, from my experience when you see some changes, the hard work that you always endure will surely payoff and you can be proud of yourself. And always count your calories intake every day. And when you realize it you already at the finish line, so keep going.

Next week, i will share my other high protein dish. Leave a comment on what's your favorite foods.

That's it for this week, See you guys next week!🙌

Hans
